Any way, you have to amend the license problem, and then it will come out on the daily scan.

    Hi,

With module auth_signup you have a auth_signup_uninvited system parameter, then if you set it to False only users with login can access your website. That access can be granted by portal wizard action to users you wish as well.

    Hi Daniel,

The test and vendor directories you mention are related to the templating mechanism. They are not part of the actual target repos.

The result of applying the template with the "copier" tool is currently very close to what we have on the 13.0 branches, so there should not be any significant difference in practice.

    Hi Team,

    Good day!

We are testing the Petty Cash Application below in Odoo v12, please help to verify the following queries.

    1. Can we generate petty cash voucher from the app?

    2. Can the app support the request of petty cash expense under Vendor Bills of Accounting Module?

    Looking forward for your feedback.

I think there is a minor bug.
I tried it in odoo v12 and got some error about maxLength.
However since I only use it for a form with only translatable fields of
type Text, the error is gone, so I assume there is something wrong for
fields of type Char, but I didn’t investigate further though.

well i wouldn't say its perfectly easy to use but a way better than the
    standard function.

@Peter: If that woul be integrated with automated translation that'll
be a good improvement i guess.

  • User friendly interface for managing translations from user point of view
    Hello,

we have some description fields in our custom models we need to get
    translated.
I know everything about the standard odoo mechanism, but I’m thinking
about something more maintainable by end users.

So what I’m looking for is a more user friendly interface for users to
access the stored translations for a field.
More user friendly than switching their own language preference or going
into edit mode and press this little globe button that leads to
    ir.translation.

Do you know something like that?
Maybe has anybody already written widgets for this?
I could imagine something similiar like this globe button, but also
vissible in read mode, opening a popup for changing the language only
for that field for a moment, or something like that.

    Any hinds?

    Thanks, regards, Peter

  • odoo as oauth2 provider
    Hello everyone,

Do you know how I can set up Odoo to act as an OAuth provider, in the
case I have at hand, this is to allow SSO from an external website of my
    customer.

    Thanks

  • RE: Editing/Viewing attachments (mainly Word and Excel) directly on server without the need to download locally

    Dear,

That’s true. You need to build your own Nextcloud / Alfresco… Not simple.. And then you have to maintain that… with some changes in the Python CMIS library so now and then, and with changes in basic models of Odoo each year ( even after 14 versions, Odoo seems still not to know how a customer, product, invoice, sales or accounting line object must be, so Odoo keep on changing these, want is a big pain ! ). Success ! We have worked a year on a solution and stopped the project because the result was not what we had hoped… )

    With kind regards,

Looking for alternatives I found these 2 articles that summarize exactly what I would need:

    https://mikekaganski.wordpress.com/2016/10/29/first-blog-post/

    https://mikekaganski.wordpress.com/2016/11/20/integrating-libreoffice-with-sharepoint-part-2/

So the alternatives (protocol - wise) that I can see are (talking about editing in desktop version of LibreOffice / MS Office):

    • WebDAV

    • CMIS

I have been looking for WebDAV already and mentioned it in initial email. Looking for CMIS I found this: https://github.com/OCA/connector-cmis

However that is for integration with external CMIS server such as Alfresco. So I would need to implement CMIS server as Odoo module to achieve what I want. Will research that.

    Best regards

  • RE: Editing/Viewing attachments (mainly Word and Excel) directly on server without the need to download locally

    Dear,

The Alfresco solution is also a possibility. Alfresco is much more powerful the Nextcloud, but also much more complicated… And I like the Nextcloud Odoo module, because in Odoo, the basics remain completely as without. The attachments are present as usual in Odoo. You can use Nextcloud to work with the attachments and to create or kill new ones. You can use the attachment mechanism of Odoo as normally too. You can even choose with models have a Nextcloud map structure and with not ( for some smaller models with few static attachments, you may not need another mechanism ).  In the Alfresco module, there is an extra tab for the Alfresco connection.

But when you need the advanced Alfresco possibilities, of course Alfresco is a great solution.

Will have a look. While researching this I found many mentions of Alfresco

implementing required subset of SharePoint services which I thought could be

used as a base for something like this.

  • Bank Statement Reconciliation with multiple matching fields.
    Dear Community

I need some help. I have invoices, with invoice lines with an extra "Ref" field to be used for matching bank statements line reconciliation later on.

With standard Odoo, when do reconcile invoice with Bank Statement (line will also has extra "Ref" field), we can only reconcile by "Partner".

Are there module in OCA that help matching by "Partner" and "Ref" ?

    Thanks!

  • Re: Editing/Viewing attachments (mainly Word and Excel) directly on server without the need to download locally
Is this what they use for "live" spreadsheets in 14.0? I wonder why they
didn't allow for editing other xls/xlsx/... files.

This would certainly be an option for "simpler" files. I can imagine more
complicated files. Also Word/Writer and PowerPoint/Impress files remains...

    But great point. Thank you.
