  • PSC sale-workflow
    Hi everyone,

I've been working on odoo for a few years now, and on OCA for the last 3
    years.
On our projects, I've mostly worked on sale related modules, which is
why I would like to get involved on the
    https://github.com/OCA/sale-workflow respository.
Therefore, I propose myself as a PSC on this repository.

    Here's my GH account: MmeQuignon

    Thanks a lot!

  • OCA 2022 Delegates Campaign is now open....

Dear Odoo enthusiasts, OCA members and contributors,

The 2022 OCA Delegates Campaign is open. From now and until October 21st, you can apply to be an OCA Delegate if you are a current paid Member.

    Why?

The Delegate Assembly is the Association’s supreme authority. Each Delegate member is entitled to one vote at the Delegate Assembly. Decisions of the Delegate Assembly are taken by a majority vote of the Delegate members present and voting. For further details, please read the Bylaws.

    How?

To apply as a candidate, you have to:

The campaign will be closed on October 21st, 2022.

    Then what?

The vote will be open from October 24th - November 4th, 2022. Current OCA Delegates will have to vote for 10 new Delegates among the candidates.

The results of the election will be announced on those lists on November 7th, 2022.

The 10 new Delegates will then take part with the existing Delegates in :

    • the 2022 OCA Board Member Campaign from November 7th - 18th, 2022

    • the 2022 OCA Financial Auditor Campaign from November 7th - 18th, 2022

    • the 2022 General Assembly from November 21st to December 2nd, 2022.

We look forward to seeing those who can make it the OCA Days this week, there will be a AMA OCA Board session where you can ask questions about this process or you can reply to this email as well.

    Warmest regards, Rebecca

Thanks for your answers ! We agree that moves with state = 'cancel' should always be ignored.

  • PSC Activities for 2022 OCA AGA - time for some reflection..
    Hi all,

It is that time of year again when we ask for a little help from our PSC representatives.
In the AGA  activities report, we like to share the achievements of the PSCs from over the year.

Please see the working document here.

It would be great while people are at OCA Days if they could have a chat and talk about what they would like to share as well - a great time to connect.
Please add your PSC and what has happened over the 2021/2022 period to the working document.

I'll send a few reminders over the coming weeks with a cut-off date of October 28th to have your contributions in.

    Many thanks in advance.

Good point to have more dedicated repositories well named

As I see all stocks repos are prefixed stock-logistics ...
Then it seems there is no added value for 'logistics' name (no help to understand the content)

What if if we rename all prefix to stock only of those repositories

I'm lazy and I prefer to write "cd stock-..." rather than "cd stock-logistics-..." all days of the year

What do you think about this? Not lazy on your side ?

No problem for stock-logistics-interfaces. You know more the coverage of those modules. But doesn't it sound a little bit too generic ?

I also thought about inventory modules. But from v15, Odoo has refactored the way inventories are done. There are currently no module of that kind in v15 branch either. Maybe we can wait and see on that one.

I'd prefer keeping the habits of people for both well known ones. Warehouse is usually for 'static' representations of flows (base objects, ...). Workflow is usually for pickings/moves behaviours.
As the first aim of my request is to lower the weight of repositories, merging both is quite unwanted.

What about the remaining modules in stock-logistics-warehouse? It's not always clear why a module is in stock-logistics-warehouse or in stock-logistics-workflow. Shouldn't stock-logistics-warehouse then be dropped in favor of stock-logistics-workflow ?

I rather like hyphens in repository names instead of underscores, and all
current repos do that. So I'd suggest to do it the same with the new repos.

New ones are fine with me, still I think people proposing new repos should
immediately provide a catchy description that can be placed to github and the
    oca db.

I rather like hyphens in repository names instead of underscores, and all
current repos do that. So I'd suggest to do it the same with the new repos.

New ones are fine with me, still I think people proposing new repos should
immediately provide a catchy description that can be placed to github and the

  • RE: cancel state on account.move

Imho ‘cancelled’ entries are functionally equal to no entry at all, hence unposted & posted is sufficient in the reports.

I do like having cancelled entries since it allows the customer (and external auditors) to analyze historical transactions (useful when there are gaps in the invoice numbering due to cancel).

Up till now I haven’t seen any demand in our customer base to develop a report on cancelled entries. The standard list view filters and export features are sufficient.

Concerning naming on the report wizards: I think we should align with the naming of the Odoo financial reporting engine.

    Regards,

    Luc

    Subject: cancel state on account.move

    Dear OCA friends,

Up to Odoo v12, the "state" of an account.move had 2 possible values : "draft" and "posted".

Starting from Odoo v13, the "state" field has one more possible value : "cancel". I hate that, but it's a fact :(

The problem is : how should we handle these "cancel" moves. In several wizards/models, we give the user the choice between "posted moves only" and "all moves" ; does "all moves" means draft+posted or draft+posted+cancel ? Maybe a developer would consider that "all moves" means draft+posted+cancel, but a user often considers that cancelled moves should never be taken into account and "all moves" means draft+posted.

Here is a summary of the situation on Odoo v14 in different modules :

    • account_financial_report : when the user selects "All entries", Odoo takes draft+posted

    • sale and purchase : the "Invoiced qty" on the sale.order.line/ purchase.order.line doesn't take into account the cancelled invoices (it only takes draft and posted invoices)

    • l10n_fr_fec : when the user selects "Non-official FEC report (posted and unposted entries)", Odoo takes draft+posted+cancel

    • lock dates : odoo allows to have moves with state="cancel" in a locked period (but moves in draft state are not allowed)

So the majority of modules considers that "all moves" means "draft + posted" and excludes "cancel" state. The fact that Odoo accepts cancel entries in a locked period confirms that cancelled moves should always be ignored, even when Odoo says "all entries".

I think l10n_fr_fec should be fixed to adopt this behavior (I can make a PR for l10n_fr_fec_oca).

The OCA modules account_cutoff_xxx from https://github.com/OCA/account-closing don't even have a field to say if you should select "all moves" (draft + po sted) or "posted moves only" (at the moment, it takes all moves including cancelled moves). I'll make a PR to fix this.

Do you know other modules that should be fixed on this ?

For v16, maybe we should switch from the term "All entries" to "Draft and Posted entries"... what do you think ?
