The base module for rental services is still sale_rental from sale_workflow. We already had it included in our code in v12 as rental_sale but had to roll that back. So AFAICS porting sale_rental to v16 is still a prerequisite to porting any other module in vertical-rental to v16. There’s a lot more rental-related code available in our internal code base at https://github.com/elego/rental-vertical, and publishing that in the OCA repo has been a very tedious and time-consuming task so far, so any help will be greatly appreciated. Currently that code is running on v12 and v14 systems and most of it has been ported to v15, but none to v16 yet. Contrary to our optimistic planning two years ago there has indeed been some interest in the rental code we produced but no budgets from commercial organizations (only NGOs) for any porting and development work yet. We have invested considerable time in getting it working in Odoo 14 and 15 but there has been no request yet for v16. So it might not be too late to move sale_rental from sale-workflow as rental_sale into the vertical-rental repo and I’d be in favour of doing that for v16. Perhaps Ben can add some details to the status and his perspective for the use and development of the rental code. I suggest that Olaf Wagner (Elegosoft) and / or Ben Brich (Humanilog), both German folks can step in here for discussion and guidance. If i remember well the discussion on the relation between sale_rental and vertical_rental has been held already quite a while ago and the latter has been deliberately contributed as a result of that discussion. But surely Ben and Olaf know more about the history here. In any case contribitions are always warmly appreciated Yorlys.

any help is welcome. You can read on migration to 16.0 here: https://github.com/OCA/maintainer-tools/wiki/Migration-to-version-16.0 If you follow it setp by step it should be fine. Before migrating module always check for existence of prior PR migrating the same module. But in this case there is none so you're good to go.

exclude locations from available stock calculation
A customer asked me about the need to be able to define stock locations that are not taken into account when calculating the quantity on hand of the products in the warehouse to which it belongs. Searching in OCA I found the module stock_available_base_exclude_location (https://github.com/OCA/stock-logistics-warehouse/tree/14.0/stock_available_base_exclude_location) which I understand supports the required functionality. But it is up to version 14 and it is needed for version 15. I have the option to do the migration but first I would like to make sure that there is no other way to solve this in version 15, maybe the OCA module is not needed anymore and it can be solve using CORE functions. Thank you very much in advance.

Greetings contributors,I cannot find anymore the modulein product-attribute repository. I get you point of course. What I can add here is, that there is a boolean flag in the attendance record, where you see that it is generated.
So for that, you are able every time to delete all generated records, if you want. (Perhaps to that time, that Odoo fixes the problem ;-)
I think to build a working patch, needs a lot of refactoring, because everything of overtime calculation is based on attendance records.
And the only way to consider them is, when they really exist.
I also would be more happy, if it wouldn't need such a workaround.
Anyway, this solution fits to our needs, and I just want to share it with all of you. No force to use it.

I pained about the same issues, you are all telling about. I just can speak for version 16. Probably 15 too, but I‘am not sure. Our module depends to Odoo Core only.
Our biggest pain was, that the overtime is not reduced on days without attendance, where you normally have to work.
For that problem we found a really simple solution.The approach was, when you have attendances, then overtime calculation is correct.The trick is, we create an attendance with zero time for days, where no attendance entries exist.
Therefore we have implemented a cronjob which runs every night and creates missing attendances for days where are no entries. We use here the „generate_series“ method from postgres.
You also have got a new field „count_attendance_from“ in employee. Starting from that date, all missing attendances are generated with zero time.
If anyone is interested, here is a link to the code.I just uploaded it to github, while primarily we are using gitlab.
In this repository there are two more modules. Once for generating public holidays worldwide using pythons holiday library and one module, for updating overtime when creating the holidays later.
hr_attendance_no_gaps:Module for correct overtime calculation
hr_generate_public_holidays:Module for generating holidays
hr_holidays_attendance_overtime:Bridge module between hr_attendance and hr_holidays to update overtime.
We also would contribute them to oca, but haven‘t written any tests yet. Feel free to contribute :)
